My need to reflect and comment on multilayered relationship between ecological thinking and Web 2.0 is becoming more crucial not only because Web 2.0 is centered on ecological thinking, the fate of life on earth may just lay in the hands of the self-organizing or emergent innovations that Web 2.0 can facilitate. When an ecological way of knowing is propagated by Web 2.0 in a group the collective intelligence that can emerge through the same Web 2.0 social networking vehicles can create novel sustainability solutions.

Furthermore, the growth of Mass intelligence and the success of businesses such as Intelligence Squared, which puts on public debates for audience up to 800, and the School of Life, which aims "to bridge the gap between adult education and self-help.. “a one-stop shop for the mind” with courses sold out for months ahead, are great omens for courses (real and virtual) on ecological thinking.
